Can the wife get the divorce case transferred to the court in her city

16-Dec-2023 (In Divorce Law)
My husband has filed a divorce petition stating false statements and accusations. I was married for three months and moved out of the house because of physical and mental torture. The case has been filed by him in Pune where we stayed after marriage, but since then I have moved to Bangalore for better job prospects. How do I get the case transferred to Bangalore as it will not be possible for me to keep travelling to Pune as it will affect me financially since I am not working right now and dependent on my parents.

For transfer the case we have to file a writ petition in the concerned High Court and obtain order of transfer.
Rather than this you need not to come on each and every day to the family court Pune for court date, I can manage here

Your husband is right in filing the divorce case in Pune since both of you last lived together at Pune but now that you are with your parents at Bangalore and unemployed, you can always seek for transfer of case to Bangalore but since the transfer is from one state to another state, you need to move a transfer petition before the Hon'ble Supreme Court. Before you file a transfer petition, I would suggest you to file three cases against your husband at Bangalore for dowry harassment, domestic violence and maintenance.
