you will anyway get time to resolve that, the court appoints a mediation officer and they give you time to resolve the matter and work your marriage out, so you can ask the court or the officer that you need some time

Yes, if it's a Mutual Consent Divorce, you can request the court to grant more time if both parties agree or if there are valid reasons. I can help you understand your options and represent you in the process.

yes you can ask for this 8 month period but for that we need to know the stage of MCD. If the first motion is recorded and the second motion is not passed yet then you can pray to the court to grant adjournment or tell them that you do not want to proceed further.

Yes. If your wife has filed a petition for Mutual Consent Divorce (MCD) and you need additional time, you may request the Family Court to adjourn the matter by stating genuine reasons. Since mutual consent requires the free consent of both parties at every stage, you cannot be compelled to proceed if you are not ready. If you need about 8 months to reconsider or settle related issues, inform the Court through your advocate and seek an appropriate adjournment. The Court may grant reasonable time depending on the facts and circumstances of the case.

Yes, you may request the Family Court to grant additional time by filing an appropriate application explaining the genuine reasons for seeking an adjournment. However, the grant of 8 months is entirely at the discretion of the court. If your reasons are bona fide and supported by relevant material, the court may consider your request or grant a shorter extension. It is advisable to appear before the court and present your reasons properly.
