Can I take divorce if I dont have marriage certificate

Hi..I need suggestion on divorce but not having marriage certificate. We have kid and divorce is required as husband is cheating and not loyal.pls suggest .
Yes the law provides certain procedures to be followed for seeking Divorce for both the husband as well as wife and the same can be done even if the marriage is not registered and therefore no Marriage Certificate is issued and available.

You do not need any marriage certificate if you want to file a case for divorce but there must be some proof of solemnization of marriage. This is because that till date the registration of marriages what have taken place has not been made mandatory by the legislature.
