Can a witness in false marriage be penalized

sir, my friend and his girlfriend got married at arya samaj mandir in 2013.I was one of the witness in their marriage certificate.both were of marriageable age according to law at that time. until recently my friend got married to another girl.he didn't told them about his first marriage nor did he told me.but when I confronted him he told me a lie that he and his girlfriend have ended their marriage upon mutual conscent. now hiis newly wedded wife and her family came to know about his first marriage.They are now threatning me that i have done wrongand they will lodge a fir against me and send me to a jail. I am a govt employee and want to know whether i have commited any crime punishable by law.both are hindu so am i

यदि इन दोनों प्रश्नों का उत्तर "हां" है, तो फिर आप भी इस अवैध विवाह करवाने में दोषी होंगे ।
यदि आपने सिर्फ पहले हुए विवाह में ही गवाही दी है, तो आपका इस दूसरे विवाह में कोई संबंध नहीं पाया जायेगा।
क्या आप इस दूसरे विवाह में भी गवाह बने हैं ?

You are the witness in its first marriage and if your friend without giving divorce to its first wife marriage to another girl then it's your friend who has committed Offense not you and it's second marriage cannot legalised without dissolving the first marriage through a proper legal course , but if it is found that you also participate in the second marriage then it may be possible that you may face some legal consequences.

You have done no wrong , they are just fool as nothing will be done if you have not done wrong, further if they threatened you then file a complaint against them. Your friend has married and then divorce and it is not your concern , so if they again threatened you then just laugh on their face.
