Call off the wedding after engagement

I got engaged in 6th Feb 2022. everything was decided before engagement that marriage will happen on grooms town and girls side will pay certain amount for marriage expenses. After few days of engagement brides brother misbhiaved with my mother over the phone and same thing I told to girl she is accusing my mother also. I decided not to marry her before in this incidents girls brother has transferred some fixed amount to my account number as promised by them and I had booked catering, venue, decoration, etc after calling off the wedding girls side file against case my whole family mother, sister (married), brother in-law. They have mentioned that the amount they have transferred on my account number is for wedding expenses but we have demanded 10lakhs dowry and he couldn't pay that's why we call off the wedding. We have tried to compromise off the court and Iam ready to refund all his amount but they didn't agree. Now their main aligation is 420 N DP3/4. KINDLY HELP
