Allahabad High Court case listing issue

30-Jan-2026 (In Divorce Law)
My case 'Criminal Revison' is pending since 2 years in Allahabad high court. Advocate says he file application every week to list the case. I want to know about application procedure in allahabad High Court. Do advocate need to file that application every week to list out the case? After filling application, in how many days the case can be listed, can the case be listed in the same week or 4-5 days or more? My advocate filled application on 10th Jan and still the case is not showing.

There is no legal requirement that an advocate must file a listing application every week. Usually, a single mentioning or application is sufficient. Repeated weekly applications do not guarantee immediate listing, as listing depends upon court workload and directions of the Bench

Hello, The listing of the case depends upon the order passed by the Honble Court after considering the urgency in the matter. Your advocate can assist you in better in understanding the listing order of the Hon'ble Court. Even in case you need more assistance in the matter, you can get in touch with your case details. In the Allahabad High Court, a Criminal Revision is listed according to the court’s roster, pendency, and urgency. Simply filing an application does not guarantee immediate listing. Your advocate is likely filing a “listing / early hearing application” (sometimes called a mentioning application or urgent listing request). Such applications are placed before the concerned court as per administrative procedure, and the Registry decides when the matter can be shown in the cause list. It is not necessary to file the application every week. Repeated filings do not speed up the process unless there is a genuine urgency (like stay, custody, or serious prejudice). How long does listing take? There is no fixed time limit. Generally: If urgency is accepted → matter may list in 1–3 weeks If normal listing → it may take several weeks or months, depending on backlog Same-week listing is rare unless the court grants urgent circulation Since the application was filed on 10 January, your advocate should: Check defects/office objections (if any) Verify whether the application was numbered and placed before the Judge Follow up with the listing section of the Registry
