How to approach the settlement offer No Fixed Percentage of Net Worth: While monthly maintenance can be benchmarked around 25% of the net salary, a one-time settlement is based on total net worth and other factors, without a hard and fast rule. Negotiation is Key: The ₹25 Lakh offer from the husband is a starting point for negotiation. You can counter the offer based on a detailed assessment of all factors, including the husband's full assets and potential earning capacity. Legal Counsel: Given the complexities involving property, income, and existing legal cases (498A and maintenance), it is crucial to consult with an experienced divorce or family lawyer who can provide advice tailored to your specific situation and jurisdiction.

Dear Madam, The offer is on lower side. you may claim at least one residential House with Rupees twenty five Lakhs. If you keep this amount in bank you cannot get enough interest for your minimum necessities. you have with draw  criminal is which is registered with great difficulty. Better bargain for more or ask him to pay separately towards educational expenses of the child.
