I advise that your husband’s actions recording without consent, alleged blackmail, dowry demands, hacking, and mental harassment constitute serious legal violations; such recordings are not automatically admissible, especially if obtained unlawfully or under coercion, and you have strong grounds to initiate action under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, Section 498A IPC for cruelty/dowry harassment, provisions for criminal intimidation/extortion, and the IT Act for unauthorized access; you should immediately preserve all evidence (messages, screenshots, threats), inform the mediator about the coercion as it affects fair mediation, and consider filing a complaint/FIR and seeking interim court protection to restrain him from using or circulating the audio, as remaining silent may weaken your position.

On facts, this is not a simple matrimonial dispute. It clearly discloses continuous cruelty, dowry demand, privacy violation and criminal intimidation. The conduct of husband is prima facie illegal and punishable under multiple provisions.

Yes, you can file a complaint against your husband in your nearest police station and if your problem is not solved there then you can go to the women police station as per the zone of your area and file a complaint and you can also file a case to get a divorce from your husband. Thank you for contacting us

I’ve carefully gone through what you’ve shared, and I understand this is a very difficult situation for you. Please don’t worry—you do have legal protection in this matter, and there are clear remedies available. First, regarding the recording—if your husband accessed your phone without your permission or recorded anything without your consent, this is a violation of your privacy. Such evidence can definitely be challenged in court, especially if it was obtained unfairly or through misuse of your personal device. From what you’ve described, his behaviour may amount to several legal offences. For example, forcing or pressuring you, making dowry-related demands, or threatening to use private material against you can fall under serious provisions like cruelty (Section 498A IPC), dowry laws, and criminal intimidation (Section 506 IPC). Also, if he has accessed your phone without consent, it may attract provisions under the Information Technology Act. You also mentioned being forced into personal acts and then being recorded—this is a very serious issue. The law does not support any form of coercion or misuse of such private moments. Coming to your concern about your image, the courts take a strict view in such matters. You can seek protection from the court to stop him from using or sharing any such recordings. Your dignity and privacy are important, and the law recognizes that.

Yes, you should seriously consider filing a case and not stay silent out of fear. Your past relationship is not illegal.A confession taken after beating, pressure, or intimidation can be challenged legally. Secretly recording intimate moments without consent, blackmailing, hacking your phone, dowry demands, domestic violence, and defamation are serious offences. His threats may actually strengthen your case against him. Your past relationship is not illegal. A confession taken after beating, pressure, or intimidation can be challenged legally.
