Abortion without consent, divorce, and legal procedures

02-May-2023 (In Divorce Law)
My friend (hindu) got married in Dec last year, but things didn't turn out as she had hoped for. She lived with her husband for few months but now she is staying at her in-laws and her husband lives in a different city. There is no chemistry between them. Her in-laws torture her mentally. She has to do all the house work, dress the way they want, and she is also not allowed to go out unless necessary. Her in-laws also don't want her to work (she was working before marriage), unless she bags a good paying govt job. They don't even give her any money for personal expensesShe is 12-weeks pregnant, she didn't want the baby and is not ready for a big responsibility. She wants an abortion & divorce but her family is suggesting her to adjust. She can live alone and take care of herself after an abortion. But she is unaware of the legal procedures and fears that an abortion without consent may lead to a legal action against her. Any advise on how to move forward would be appreciated

Dear queriest, as per your query you have mentioned that your friend in not in situation to stay at her in-laws house nor she is interested to continue the marriage, and wants to abort the child and take care of herself by staying away from her husband and her in laws, if she wants to abort the child she can take her own decision, since she is suffering from such situations at her in-laws house and nobody is taking care of her, for more information about the same kindly contact me.

Marriage Act, the parties to a marriage might file a petition for dissolution of marriage, by decree of divorce by mutual consent, on the ground that that they have been living separately for a period of one year or more, and that they have not been able to live together
