Dear All,

Even Police can raid your office or house and can arrest you without warrant. Under the Indian Copyright Act, a software pirate can be tried under both civil and criminal law. The minimum jail term for software copyright infringement is seven days, and the maximum jail term is three years. Statutory fines range from a minimum of 50,000 to a maximum of 200,000 rupees.Sections of The IT Act, 2000 can also be applied based on scenario of piracy.

Also Please Read The Term and Condition Before installing any software you will come to know the clauses and other details.

To take the action 1st I would need to go through the notice you received. And If the employees are using the pirated software on their personal computer system, Company does not need to worry. But If the employees are using the pirated applications for company work, then some action may be required. But before advising any action I would go through the notice.
