Is it compulsory to go to police station to give statement
14-May-2023 (In Cyber Crime Law)
I have been called by the police station to give a statement and I did give one . They told me to submit my passport too . But didn't produce any complaint copy . I was notified someone called NCW and made complaint . So they are doing this . Is it compulsory for me to go to the station whenever the police calls me ? They have been forcing me and it is disturbing my office works due to need for travel.

Hi, I would like to know which kind of statement you gave in police station for which they asked you to submit your passport. I believe unless crime is serious no police would ask you to submit the passport. It is appropriate to go to police station as and when they call you but you may ask for summon for why they call you to police station. You need to work with lawyer to know the facts.
