Witness may not come to court, what to do ?

23-Nov-2023 (In Criminal Law)
My aunt accused my mother of giving her life threats and providing her physical harm. my mother and aunt are neighbours. police registered a false fir.And police asked my mother to give 5 names and phone no of people living in society to say that no fight took place on that day.So we did that. police made them witness of case. police has said they are taking their phone no and address for general enquiry. they spoke to police discharging all claims of my aunt against my mother . But they are not ready to appear in court as witness.typical indian mentality scared of appearing in court for multiple times.they are now backing that they have helped us to the best of their capability but now they will not appear in court. If they spoke in court my problem was solved.but unfortunately now i am scared if they are summoned multiple times by court they will get irritated and go against me(low probability). but what should i do now.

You should talk to the proposed witnesses that they have to give their oral witness before the court , otherwise the court will compell them by sending summoned , warrant and this situation will not be banificiarry to them. There is no other way to get discharge from evidence in criminal case
