In legal terms, "dismissed as not pressed" means that the petitioner or applicant has chosen not to proceed with their case, petition, or application during the hearing. The court, recognizing that the party is not pursuing the matter any further, dismisses it without going into the merits of the case.

This is slightly different from "withdrawn," where a formal request is made to take back the case. In contrast, "not pressed" is often a passive or verbal indication made in court typically by the lawyer or party that they do not wish to argue or continue with the matter. The dismissal does not imply guilt, fault, or a judgment on the case's substance; it simply means the matter was not pursued to conclusion.

It is important to note that a case disposed of as not pressed does not establish any precedent or legal decision regarding the issues raised in the case. Therefore, the parties to the case may still have the option to file a fresh case on the same or related issues if they choose to do so, subject to the applicable laws and procedures.
