Utter Pradesh Electrical department filed fir ag

22-Aug-2025 (In Criminal Law)
I am writing to bring to your attention a pressing issue regarding my electric connection. I have been a consumer of electricity for over 25 years with an unmetered domestic connection of 2 kW. Despite consistently paying my bills on time without any delay, I was shocked when the electric department cut off my cable and filed an FIR against me due to the unmetered connection. The surprising part is that the electrical department never issued any kind of notice for the installation of a meter,

you challenge the FIR along with the any notice before the Hon'ble High Court and certainly the Hon'ble High Court will look into the matter and same may be quashed by the Hon'ble High Court after hearing the parties.

If you have been a consumer for 25+ years and regularly paying bills, disconnection and FIR without notice is arbitrary. Under the Electricity Act, 2003, the department must issue proper notice and provide opportunity to install a meter before alleging theft/illegal use. You can file a writ petition in the High Court for quashing of FIR and restoration of supply, or approach the Electricity Ombudsman/Consumer Forum for deficiency in service. Collect receipts of bills, connection records, and proof that no notice was served. Courts usually grant relief where genuine consumers are harassed due to departmental negligence. Immediate legal action will protect you from wrongful criminal liability.

Regarding this we have to file a FIR Quashing writ under article 226 before the Hon'ble High Court . And from there you can only get relief. For more enquiry you can call me or connect with me on whatsapp

You can get bail by going to your lawyer with the electricity connection papers and all the electricity bills. If your connection has been cut and the cable has not been taken away, then you can be assured because this action has been taken in your favor and you can get bail immediately by giving surrender bail.
