Unauthorised disclosure of Bank statement

22-Jul-2023 (In Criminal Law)
I am from Delhi. My bank home branch is Noida. Unauthorised disclosure of Bank statement happened in Meerut. nBank acknowledged their mistake.nI being from Delhi, want to lodge FIR in Delhi. But it is not registered. I am asked to go to Noida. I still want to try further for Delhi. Is it not legally possible to get it done in Delhi? What are other ways I can cause maximum harassment for offenders and minimum for myself?

This is a clear breach of one's privacy. You must try for the zero FIR but if the police officials are failing to register a FIR against the culprits then you can get it done through the court by filing a petition under section 156(3) CrPC. But rather than going legal it is advisable to serve the bank a legal notice and ask them to take strict action against the accused persons and give you the compensation. For more legal assistance I am just a call away.

The fir cannot be lodged in Delhi under any circumstance and it can be lodged only in your home city i e Noida. On the basis of fir the case will be filed in Noida and for getting the benefit out of that it is advisable that proper advice of the advocate should be taken who can take it further and provide you the maximum relief.

you being a resident of Delhi, the local police station of your area must accept the complaint. it is wrong to suggest that the complaint can be made only in meerut. If the police does not accept the complaint you can speed post the complaint to the SHO, of your local police station. should you have any queries feel free to contact me.

Sir your complaint can definitely be lodged here in Delhi. The police officials will try their level best not to register it here in delhi and will give you excuses that they don't have jurisdiction and all. There are ways this can be done. For assistance you may consult me.

Dear Client, You can go for Zero FIR, in case the Police officials in your local area refuse to entertain your complaint. The concept of zero FIR is new. It refers to a FIR that is registered irrespective of the area where the offence is committed. The police in such a case can no longer claim that they have no jurisdiction. Such a FIR is then later transferred to the police station that has the actual jurisdiction so that investigation can begin. It was introduced on the recommendation of the Justice Verma Comittee formed at the backdrop of the brutal Nirbhaya gang rape in Delhi in 2012. This puts a legal obligation on the police to begin investigation and take quick action without the excuse of absence of jurisdiction. In case of any issue feel free to contact me.
