U should appeal against the imposition of fine as it means u had committed offence and we're punished by means of fine .U should get yourself acquitted by the appellate court. This will create obstacle in ur selection in any govt Job .Contqct me for any help.

I understand your concern, especially since you are preparing for SSC and aiming for a government job. In your case, you were convicted under Section 34(1) of the Excise Act and only a fine of ₹5,000 was imposed in a summary trial. This is considered a minor offence, and importantly, it does not involve moral turpitude or any serious criminal conduct. So, while this does not automatically disqualify you from getting a government job, it is something that needs to be handled carefully. The most important thing you must keep in mind is that you should always disclose this conviction honestly in any application form or during police verification. Government recruitment bodies, including SSC, take non-disclosure very seriously, and hiding the fact can lead to cancellation of your candidature later on. On the other hand, if you are truthful and transparent, authorities usually consider the nature of the offence, the punishment given, and your overall conduct. Since your case was minor and resulted only in a fine, it is quite possible that it may not create a major obstacle. To be on the safer side, you should keep all your documents ready, including the judgment copy and proof of fine payment. If the limitation period still allows, you may also consider filing an appeal, mainly from a career perspective, to try and get relief from the conviction. Additionally, in appropriate cases, benefit under the Probation of Offenders Act, 1958 can also help, though that depends on the specific facts of your case. Overall, you should not be overly worried. Many candidates with minor cases like this have still been selected for government jobs. The key is honesty, proper documentation, and a clear explanation if required. Focus on your preparation with confidence—this issue is manageable and not something that will automatically ruin your chances. If needed, I can also help you prepare a proper explanation statement or guide you further for the next steps.
