23-May-2023 (In Criminal Law)
Practically remand is given for 14 days at a time then why section 167 of CrPC says 15 days. Why one day is not counted?

As per section 167 CrPC there’s no such time limit provided for the detention of the accused person. The section 167(2) clearly says that “not exceeding fifteen days in the whole” which means that the period can be anything but can’t exceed 15 days except in exceptional cases.
