Relocated in different cannot attend court proceedings

20-Aug-2023 (In Criminal Law)
I am the complainant in the extortion case which happened around 4 months ago. Due to financial problems i had to shift to my hometown. The court proceedings are starting now, and it is very expensive and difficult for me to attend all the hearings. Is it necessary to attend all hearings of court? Can i attend through Vc? How frequently will i be physically needed in court?

Hello, Hope you are doing well Being a complainant you don't need to appear before the court on each and every date of hearing and Yes you may also mark your presence through VC on miscellaneous purposes ( if that particular court is allowing virtual appearances). But your presence will be required when the case reaches the stage of evidence and the court summons you as a witness. Once your statements are recorded as a witness...again your presence will not be required on a regular basis. Regards Adv. Anupam Pandey

Yes you can always attend the court proceedings via Video Conferencing. There is no need for you to attend all the court proceedings. Your Advocate can handle it. Your physical presence will only be required at the time of your examination-in-chief and cross examination by the opposite counsel. For more legal assistance I am just a call away.

it is not necessary to attend all the hearings if you have a prudent lawyer representing your case. there are only a few instances where the presence is required for which your nominated advocate can let you know. VC is normally authorised by the court and it cannot be answered in affirmative or negative at this point
