Regarding a question on Mediation

I was booked under section 306, and my question is that if the other party agreed to the compromise, can we actually solve the case through mediation. I have read that the criminal cases are not subjected to mediation.
hi if both the parties are ready to compromise the matter then you could file petition in court to quash the case baaed on the compromise decree arrived between the parties and based on the decree orders
