Received notice to Surety on Breach of Bond
09-Jan-2025 (In Criminal Law)
I have received notice for two different cases in last six months. In both notices, I am added as surety and since the accused did not appear, the bail has been cancelled and bond has been forfeited.
The problem is, I never gave surety for these people, I don't even know them, neither I ever visited to court to submit documents or sign anywhere. This seems like an identity theft, where someone has stolen my aadhaar as My name, Father's name and address is correct. What should I do?
