quashing of criminal case in Karnataka

The case is in court and the people who filled the a wrong case/ FIR against me are willing to let go Even though i was not at fault at all, i also want this to end. they also want to move ahead with their life. would the public prosecutor object to quashing the FIR. the FIR is very Harsh as they said that that i had some kind of weapon, which is wrong. they also feel bad now for FIR. can they add this to FIR that they did not mean that i had a weapon and it was not a fight but an argument. what should we do in this matter. can they change the statement in court. Thank you so much for your help.
Dear Sir,
You have two options. One to be nice with the police and they have power to record further statements of the complainant and witnesses and can B Report that is closure report thus at the police station level only it can be closed. Secondly you can file 482 Petition and get quash the FIR and see that Prosecutor may say that it may quashed as the parties at the intervention of elders of agreed to maintain amicable terms and it will be quashed.
