Quarrel/ false police complaint

An old lady started slapping to a dog then to it's owner. A dog stick which was in the hand of the dog owner in order to protect himself hit to the lady. Now she has filed a police complaint against the dog owner that he hit with a stick on her face due to which she couldn't see. What defense could we take in this?
