What is the act and fine for public place alcohol drinking in kolkata city.
In the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Section 355 addresses misconduct in public by a drunken person. It specifies that someone intoxicated and causing annoyance in a public place can be punished with imprisonment (up to 24 hours), a fine (up to 1,000 rupees), or both, or with community service. The section also mentions that the offender must have been in a state of intoxication and must have conducted themselves in a way that caused annoyance to others.
There are also state Excise laws which prohibits in a particular state.
