Madam,

As the FIR is registered, the police will complete their investigation ( taking statements of the witnesses, visiting the crime scene and inquiry of neighbors etc) and then file the charge sheet in the concerned magistrate court. Keep in constant touch with the police and help them in their investigation. Once the charge sheet is filed, your husband will be sent summons from the magistrate court for his appearance and thereafter the proceedings of the case will actually start. Also be in touch with APP of the court for assistance.

Hi
Once the FIR is registered, police will make an enquiry and based on enquiry may or may not arrest the person.
Once the person is arrested, he is entitled to bail till such time the charge sheet is filed and trial has started.
so as a complainant, your job is to ensure that you provide the police full details for them to investigate.
Once the trial is commenced, as a complainant you will need to depose before the court and then subsequently police will also depose before the courts.
After trial the courts will decide on whether the person is to be convicted or acquitted.
The case will take atleast 2 years. so you need to be patient and follow the case.

they usually issue 41A notice to the accused in the complaint as per recent guidelines there is no immediate arrest in 498A cases please file maintainence and other domestic violence cases in order to strengthen the case under 498A
