Police is calling from different state and saying that an FIR is lodge

06-Dec-2023 (In Criminal Law)
Police is calling me from different state and saying that an FIR is lodged against me u/s 507. And calling to meet him and asking me to provide him my aadhar card and photo. But I didn't receive any type of notice or anything in writing yet. What should I do know? The FIR or complaint in question is from different state and I'm from different state .

You can ask from them the Crime No. and police station and file a petition u/s 482 crpc for quashing of FIR and getting transit protection ....this will solve your issue. The quashing of FIR can be filed in High Court under Article 226 as also u/s 482 CrPC

Hello, the offence u/s 507 IPC is a non cognizable offence, it means that police can't register a FIR against you but they have to register a non cognizable report against you, in general language we call it complaint or अदम चेक। If they again call you tell them to send the complaint to your WhatsApp and do record every call from them. We can send a legal notice to them to get all the information.
