Police harrassment due to Vendor payment not done by the Company

I am working in HR role in a company. Where Vendor payment doesn't come under my scope, it is coming under Admin. But in the month of June, We came to know that the admin person taking monetary advantages through furnishing one of his nearest family member as Vendor whereas, original services is taken from some local Service provider.
The Admin person got terminated and his roles delegated to me temporarily. Now local Vendor is chasing for the payment and made a police complaint against me.
