Mere viewing of such content, without any intention to store, circulate, download, or transmit it further, is generally treated differently from active involvement. In your case, since you immediately deleted the video and did not share or retain it, your exposure is significantly limited. However, please understand that under Indian law, particularly the provisions relating to child sexual abuse material (POCSO Act and IT Act), possession, storage, transmission, or circulation of such content is an offence. Even temporary possession can be questioned if there is evidence of download, saving, or forwarding. From the facts stated by you: • You did not create the content • You did not forward or circulate it • You deleted it immediately These factors are in your favour. That said, as a matter of precaution: • Do not engage with or view such content again • Avoid being part of any group where such material is shared • If required, you may report such content to cyber authorities to further protect yourself In the absence of any further involvement or digital trail showing storage or transmission from your end, no adverse legal consequences are likely. The primary liability, in such cases, rests on the person who created, possessed, or circulated the content.

viewing child pornography has also been made an offence under Indian criminal laws. your act might have legal consequences in the future if an investigation is launched to book all the persons involved in committing this heinous act. if you have the slightest doubt that you might also be put under the legal scanner for viewing this video, to safeguard yourself you can file a complaint against this person in the appropriate cyber cell for sending you this explicit video.

there are no further concequences for you provided you can prove that the videos recieved were from some one else and you dii not shoot any of them. if it was just used for viewing then you will face no problem but it is my humble suggestion that at least get a statement prepared before hand and keep it safe for yourself

You are generally safe based on the facts stated, but such matters are sensitive, and caution is advised going forward. You are generally safe based on the facts stated, but such matters are sensitive, and caution is advised going forward.

Mere viewing and immediate deleting of such content without forwarding it to other social platforms or persons does not really constitute a crime. But as precaution, we should report such videos related to children indulge in abusive or harassing incident to POCSO Act or IT Act. To avoid further spread of such video images of children.
