You have told nothing about the charges imputed on your Father in Law. With this little information, any answer will be a wrong one. You may reframe the question here or you may approach any lawyer of your choice , but with complete details of the case.

He would have been presented before a magistrate. What charges has been laid down? Try to get a copy of the FIR. Speak to the officer in charge and you must seek Bail for him. It's not possible to predict without know which sections he has been incarcerated under.

Since this is a case of interfering in a work of public servant, and public nuisance. Your father in law can get bail in this matter. Provided if he ready to plea bargain his offence and promise not to repeat the same in future. I also need to see the FIR for proper guidance.

Hi. In such type of cases the punishment goes from 6 months to 2 years and also some monetary compensation. The police can be asked to act leniently and that can be done from your lawyers side. The lawyer might even be able to get the case resolved. Depends on talking to the IO and SHO by the lawyer. For other details & one on one conversation you can contact us.
