You should first follow up with the local police for a written update on the case. If they remain unresponsive, escalate the matter by filing a complaint with the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) or Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP). If the delay persists, consider filing a complaint in court for swift action.

First of all register a complaint in writing to the police station according to your jurisdiction and if the police official fails to entertain you then you can always approach the court under section 156(3) CrPC and get the FIR done against the culprits.
