Let Off Criminal Accused Of Ipc 354

Do police have power to let off someone accused of Ipc 354 with a notice only.Since ipc 354 is less than 7 years offense police bail can be taken?

No can't let go him and police bail also can't be taken. Accused should first go for anticipatory bail in sessions court, if rejected can approach high court. If you are complainant, you can oppose his anticipatory bail also.

Well, Police cannot legally let go someone if a Police Complaint has been lodged against that person under Sec 354 of the IPC, 1860 which is an Offence against Dignity of a Woman which is a Cognizable Offence of serious nature for which Police has to register a FIR

police can not let off someone accused of IPC section 354. The offence under section 354 is non bailable and in order to obtain bail, one has to file a regular bail Application if the person is arrested by police or an anticipatory bail application if he feels he can be arrested.
