Legal procedure to get back mobile phone from police station

How can I get my mobile back from police. Whether I have to consult a local lawyer or do it by myself. Is it necessary to write an application for return of property. What are the chances of getting back mobile.

First you are not informed in which case police has detained your mobile.
But if police have take article as a Muddamal, you should go to the court which have appropriate jurisdiction and file Muddamal application unde section 451 of Cr.P.C

First of all you need to inform that for what purpose police took your phone ?
Second , if it involve in any crime than they did Panchnama while took from you. So, you need to inform all these facts than only i can guide you further.
