Is there any limitation period for issuing of a chargesheet

27-Feb-2023 (In Criminal Law)
Is there any maximum time limit to issue charge sheet to any government officer in any particulay matter. For example one charge sheet issued to someone in 2016 for a case which belongs to 2009. There is abnormal delay in issue of charge sheet. Is there any any rule/decision which stops issue of charge sheet in such delayed cases

The filing of chargsheet are of 2 types, one for the official investigation and the other for the FIR which is filed by police. For FIR the time period depends on the sections in which the accused is booked. And for internal inquiry there is no restriction but it should be reasonable and for FIR the max is 3 months
