In the police verification, you need to mention the correct details regarding all the information. you need not to give false information like if your marrige ahs not been dissolved then you cant write yourself as single. however the divorce petition will not hamper your verification

why do you need to hide it, if you are getting divorced tell them and your overall reputation can be at stake for committing suppression of facts and which may put you in a deeper trouble in the near future.

No. There is no certain process at all for verify your marital status. But the court has highest power , if Learned Court may think to verify it then he will order the competent authority to verify it. Thanks.
