If an unknown person defames me, what legal action should I take

if some/one unknown person defame me without any reason than what should i take legal action against him. when i go out from house than some person laugh at me and spit toward me. many people observe me very carefully just like i am ripest. i am feeling mental harassment to see these types of negative attitude of my locality. how to take legal action against unknown person. please advice me soon .......
You have not disclosed your gender but i am guessing that your are female and if that so there are many ammended law available in i.p.c. for this type of behaviour which came into force in 2012. kindly contact your local police station for the same.
