I work has a agent company is doing fraud whether I'll be effected

Sir, i was a agent of a ltd. deposit co./society which was taken the deposit form the customers even i also invested but now on the time of maturity, co. are not giving the refund & services. Co. are doing cheating,fraud & harassment etc. with the customers etc. Even as a agent i put lot of complaints to lot of dept. but some clients are not understanding this, they are giving me threat or warning & they want to harm me. Even i am in v much problem more then clients because this is my profession or breed & butter. I always want to give the best service. In these situation what should i do? Tkx

An agent is liable for the acts of the Principal and vice versa. Since the Company in which you were working indulged in fraud and cheating and indirectly you were also helping them in doing that though being unaware, therefore, you can also be held liable for their acts. It would be better for you that you also file a complaint against them before the Commissioner of Police/SSP concerned and explain in that how you were unaware about their deeds. It might not absolve you but would help you. You can also approach High Court of your State by filing a petition u/s 482 Cr.P.C. to the effect that you are being harassed by the investors wrongly and illegally.

As long as you were acting within the purview of the contract you signed with the company and were not privy to such fraud you would not be liable for your actions as agent of the company and the company alone would be responsible for any actions amounting to fraud.
