you have to Gather all evidence like emails, transaction records, screenshots, and any correspondence with authorities.: Visit the police station in person to ask for updates. Request an FIR number if you haven’t received one. if you reported it online, follow up with the Cyber Crime Cell. You can also escalate your complaint on the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal If it’s an online fraud with a vendor, file a complaint with the National Consumer Helpline or Consumer Forum. If you’re not getting responses, escalate to higher authorities in the Cyber Crime Cell. if there's still no resolution, you can file a suit of a civil or criminal case

If no action is taken despite reporting on the cybercrime portal and visiting the police, you may file a written complaint to the Superintendent of Police under Sec. 154(3) CrPC. If still no progress, you can approach the Judicial Magistrate under Sec. 156(3) CrPC seeking directions to register FIR and investigate. Preserve all proof of fraud and complaint acknowledgment. Also follow up regularly with the cybercrime cell through written reminders to create a record of inaction.

File a written reminder / complaint to the Cyber Crime Police station with your FIR/ acknowledgement number and request a status update in writing. If no action follows, send a Legal Notice to the concerned SHO and Superintendent of Police. You can also file a complaint under CrPC before the Magistrate to direct the Police to Investigate. Keep all proof of fraud and prior complaint to strengthen your case.

If you reported fraud to cybercrime and local police but got no response, escalate immediately: File an RTI to track your complaint status. Visit the SP/ACP office with complaint proof (diary number, screenshots). Email higher authorities (DGP/Commissioner) with case details. Approach the court under Section 156(3) CrPC to order an FIR. Cybercrime units often delay—persistent follow-ups are key.
