I am cheated by a carpenter can I complaint through consumer court.

I saw a ad on Facebook and I approach him to build some furniture and went to see his workshop and gave an advance of 69k,and now we have put a contract that he will do it in 1 month but he hasn't,Can i approach the consumer court for this and how should I approach

I would suggest you to go for legal notice first because in many cases the amount is fetch-able through legal notice also. If he is not listening to you then you can send him a legal notice and in that notice you can write either refund my money back along with compensation or face legal action. And if want to go legal then you can always forward a written complaint to the police station of your area. For more legal assistance I am just a call away.

Yes you can file a case before the consumer commission seeking refund and compensation on account of deficiency in services by the carpenter. You can also file a suit for breach of contract and can claim damages

Yes you can approach to the consumer court, but before this you can also file a criminal complaint against him for fraud and cheating, that may make him to realise his mistake and this can be an early relief.

You should firstly send him a letter asking him to hand over the goods to you as per the agreement and in the event of failure to do so, the agreement would be terminated at your option whereafter you would be entitled to the refund of amount with interest. You can considering availing civil remedies including filing of a consumer complaint.
