How to protect myself from Domestic violence ?

A friend of mine has been subjected to domestic violence.How can I prevent such things from happening.What approach can take ?
Are you the victim of domestic violence...harass by your In-laws (female) or your (male) trying to safeguard your self to be a party to the domestic violence case suppose to be file by your wife /sisiter -in'law/others

Your friend has remedies. She can approach the concerned JMFC/Metropotitan court by filing an application under The Domestic Violence Act for various relief including maintenance, protection and injunction and/Or She can also approah the concerned Family court for similar relief. Besides she can filed complaints before the concerned JMFC/Metropotitan court under India Penal Code
