Gst bill fraud by hotel, whatsApp messages deleted

I seek your guidance regarding a hotel in Bhubaneswar where I had booked services for my wedding on 23 November 2025. The banquet manager asked me to transfer payments to personal accounts, assuring proper GST bills later. After full payment, he stopped responding, deleted chats, and blocked me. I received only one incorrect GST bill, with no invoices for rooms or decoration. I have all payment proofs and request advice on issuing a legal notice and further action.

Your case is purely covered by Consumer Protection Act. As per the data provided by you, the hotel manager (i.e.) the hotel itself played unfair trade practice upon the you and has done illegal deficiency in service. Once you have paid some amount for a particular service, the hotel or the service provider is bound to serve you and provide you the correct GST bills as per law. You can serve a legal notice for refund of your entire paid amount alongwith interest. A consumer complaint can also be filed in case of non compliance to the claims made in the legal notice. You are also eligible for proper compensation as per the loss sustained and incurred by you for mental harrassment as well.

Yes, legal notice can be sent to claim the amount. You shouldn't have paid for the personal account of the staff. You can contact me for further process. I need to know the whole story and thereafter only I will be able to advise you.
