Got a call from Police station can came to know that i am guarantor!!

Hi,
Today i got a call from a police station. The person who called me told me that he is an SHO. He told me that there is complaint in which i am a guarantor. He asked me to come to the police station to speak with the party and resolve the matter.
I asked him that it would be great if he could share the Complaint with me so i may give them an appropriate legal answer. He told me that he will but so far no reply.
it feels rather strange that an SHO will take interest in a contract related matter and also that he would say so much on phone, while everyone has the facility of recording calls these days. Anyway, if you were a guarantor in a matter which has now become subject of police investigation, you should consult a lawyer. Police ordinarily, does not send across complaints through whatsapp etc. , but You are entitled to get a copy of the FIR, only if that complaint is converted into an FIR. Probably, it is just a trivial matter. Hence, the Last thing that you should do, is to worry.

this is v unfortunate, do you recall signing any paper ? any form ? any loan application etc of that sort? it could be that someone known to you must have forged your signature to make you a guarantor. you need to immediately intimate this to the authority.

U have not mentioned that u r a Gurantor or not ?? …If u r a guarantor in recovery of money ..then the main party must first issue u the legal notice if the main party is not giving the debt etc then it is your liability ..n the main party can also file 420 case on you both ..
