Foreign citizen (On Business VISA) In India can sign on 'Vakalatnama'

I filed criminal defamation case against some foreign citizens who are working in India. Another foreign citizen (who is also in India on Business/Tourist VISA for a long time) submitted an application on the behalf of accused foreign citizens. He signed on Vakalatnama on behalf of the company / accused foreign citizen and submitted the same in the court. Company is registered in India as a private limited company. My query - 1. Can Indian law accept 'Vakalatnama' signed by foreign citizen who is in India on Business or Tourist VISA? 2. Can Indian law accept 'Vakalatnama' signed by foreign citizen who is in India on employment VISA? Thanks for your guidance in advance

In this regard, i advice you that he can certainly sign on the Vakalatnama. Vakalatnama is just a document wherein you authorize someone to appear on behalf of you. Therefore, any foreign citizen can also be client there is no requirement of client to be Indian. Furthermore, as you told that the company is incorporated in Indian laws therefore one can surely sign being in the capacity of the AR of such indian company.
