Forcing to get married in order to clear the case filed against him

My uncle's daughter was loving a boy in our family..once she went his home but refused to go back to her home. But her parents lodged complaint and have filed FIR on him. It was not his mistake. Now he is asking them to clear the case. But they are telling if he marries their daughter then only they will clear the case. Are they any other ways to clear the case? Can FIR on him get cancelled? Please suggest me, thank you.
If FIR only has been registered against him he can obtain anticipatory bail from court and then wait for Charge sheet to be filed against him., defend the case and even apply for discharge of cases against him.
