False Allegation for making me party in a Electricity Theft Case

17-Oct-2023 (In Criminal Law)
Dear Sir/Madam, Appr. 1.5 years ago due to blowing off of the faulty underground hightension cable laied by the builder, we experiances a partial blackout in our complex, for which we in our meeting resolved to get it repaired, since this is a new project with very less occupancy, the question came in about the life of the wire in question which is known to be more than 12-15 years. however it was decided to get the same repaired which the house agreed to do so within two to three days. But in the mean while somone deliberately on there own made this illlegal connection resulting into a theft case which was caught by the Rading official on a tipoff, followed by this there was a case of theft being filed by PSPCL resulting into Disconnection and a panelty of Rs 54lacs was imposed on to our Housing Society of which I'm a members. Recently we received a letter from one of the residents stating as an eyewitness to this event and blaming me along with two others members, pls advise

as the case has been registered and the society has been penalised by the board for theft, your society needs to sort the thing among all the members and defend the case in the court. the eye witness thing can go against you so you need to be careful and take appropriate precautions
