False allegation by a women without any evidence

Hi I am the secretary of one society in Mumbai . One lady of my building who lost society election against me made false allegations against me on WhatsApp of inappropriate behaviour and staring her chest while cross path with her . When I asked her about the evidence in support of her claims she refused to give any evidence. What action should I take against her as secretary? Should we call SGM and show her message in the SGM and pass resolution against her? Please advise .

Well, you can involve Society People, Committed Body of your concerned Society for passing a Resolution against her under the concerned Provisions of Society Byelaws and Co operative Society Act and relevant concerned rules relating to such act.

Apart from what you have mentioned above, You may also file Defamation (civil and/or criminal) proceedings against her. For that you may first sent a Defamation Notice to her and in case of her failure to revert you may proceed with the cases.

If the lady in the society is making allegations against you and if it a common knowledge in society then you can definitely call for SGM. Furthermore, you can call for expulsion of the lady as member of the society if she is creating problems in fluent functioning of society.
