evidence value of call recordings to prove crime

27-Dec-2023 (In Criminal Law)
I am a Hindu woman married to a Hindu and a victim of domestic violence. Most of the verbal abuse and mental torture hurled at me was done over the telephonic calls, therefore those call recordings are practically the only evidence I have against my husband. All my reconciliation attempts with him have failed and he still demands that I hand over my salary and savings to him. Kindly advise me whether I will incur any criminal liability if I wish to submit the call recordings as evidence in court and whether the court will accept these recordings as evidence?

Hello, Call recordings and other sort of digitally recorded evidence have all the evidentiary value in the eyes of the court. So to answer your question: you may submit all the recordings and other digitally recorded evidence to court or the police if it's under investigation.
