Drinking beer on road side, and caught by police.

yesterday, I was drinking beer on road side while walking on footpath,(not drinking -driving ) one police officer came and ask for adhaar card, he took picture of it . And let me go , .He didn't even take me to police station and not make me sign anything. But warmed me , not to do it again. Will he file a case ? And why he take my aadhar card's photo

the police official can send challan at your address where you are residing for drinking at public place so wait for a period of time
this is crime and against the law

Yes, in such cases usually they issue challan against the person involved. but the amount of fine is not that huge so you don't have to be worried about it. you may receive a notice to pay fine at a later stage.
