Drink in public place and police caught me

I was sitting by the roadside in west bengal drinking when a police car passed by. They saw me drinking and took me away, taking copy of my Aadhaar card. After three hours, they released me and said to go to court to pay a fine. I’m preparing for a government job; will this cause any problems in the future?

If they have given you a slip in the form of an official document then your situation can be asserted. Other than that it's really quite hard to say what sections have been levied against you and what not.
