Defamation by my in-laws for my low income , have no parent etc

I was staying with my wife at her ancestral property since 2020 due to certain other issues. My in-laws always kept on defaming me & used to treat me like animal just because of low income as compared to my wife and I was forced to stay with my wife at the said property stated above as my wife refused to shift in a rented flat. My parents has demised .For these reasons, my in-laws always got a chance to defame at the indulgence of my wife, my sister in law threatened me with police complain
So as you have written in such a long manner, it's not possible to get your question. But as I can understand you can lodge a criminal defamation case against the alleged accused persons if you feel that your rights as an individual have been violated.
