Death Compensation for a murder case of a merchant navy seafarer

My brother is missing from the ship (He's a merchant navy seafarers) from almost a year. I had filed a murder case against one of his seniors and the company. After almost a year the ship company's owner is offer a death compensation( very less amount than expected). And my lawyer suggests to take this amount and tell the company that we are accepting this amount as a insurance . And keep going with the case usually . but it is clearly mention in t.he letter that they are offering a death compensation.
Is this a good idea ? will it affect my case ? My top most priority is justice for my brother.
hello client as i can read ur query is seems to be a question of life of your brother. as he is missing since a year or more its full responsibilty goes to shipping company as well as the full staff of the ship. in this matter you need to take proper steps to get the culprit punished . if you are taking compensation in tht mattee your full case is going yo gwt demilised. i think you are not getting proper advice from your lawyer. you need good knowledgable advocate who can help you in proper way.

If you really mein wants justice for your brother, you should avoid accepting the amount of compensation stated as a insurance by the company owner. Death Compensation is a one time money and it’s final and you can’t do anything else after taking that amount.

There is no death compensation whatsoever by accused bcoz this is a non compoundable case …if they are offering u amount that might b bcoz u don’t attend the case or might get hostile etc…..but on the other hand money is vital too for his wife or children or parents (if any)
