Conviction in police station & releasing just after 1 hours

FIR was registered against me. Some months ago IO called me to come police station for the interrogation and I joined. But after the interrogation IO convicted me & took 5000rs to release me on bound down just after conviction. So my question is money is compulsory to release a person on bound down from police station or he took bribe? If that was bribe what steps i take against that IO. To be honest i don't have any proof of him taking bribe from me.
without proof . even if you file a complaint against the IO l, you won't be able to prove your before the concern authority. The same question will be asked by the authorities listening to your complaint.

since there is no proof of the money being transferred to the person so getting a conviction against the person will be very difficult. As you have asked the question the money is not required at any point of time
